What The Church Really Is

The Church # 1 - Salt and Light Matthew 5:13-16 - " You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavour? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it nder a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." (NLT). Identity and Purpose - It's amazing that two of the initial things the Lord spoke to his first Church Members (His Disciples), was concerning their Identity and Purpose. Not only did Jesus tell the disciples WHO THEY WERE but in the same breath even told them WHY THEY WERE. We The Church today need to remember our Identity in Christ and our Purpose for being saved.
